...For The Ride Home: Everybody wants a divorce, why journalists and PR people hate each other and the fastest selling video game is...

...Because I know there's somebody out there who may appreciate this more than others. And I really, really like this song. I know the critics semi trashed it (and by critics, of course, I don't necessarily mean a certain Associate Editor. Hey a six is better than anything one through five, right?), but I've really found peace with Mr. Gray's latest record. Plus, I'm telling you, if you fill out that peak he has on the top of his head, that's pretty much how I look, and that excites me. Oh, and I love the way he bobbs his head. It's adorable! Anyways, I watched "August Rush" last night because 1) many people told me I should see it and 2) Wal-Mart has new $5 movies! The exclamation point is used to portray my excitement. Not only was I able to pick up "Four Brothers" (a total steal), but my roommate insisted on buying this with the express purpose of me watching it with him last night. The kid's great. He's not good. He's great. The rest of the movie? Eh. It's hard to do music right on the big screen. And though I know I've only been watching movies for a few years now, I can honestly say that with the exception of "Cadillac Records," "This Is Spinal Tap" and "Once," it's hard for me to get into any music-driven movie (even when yes, we all know how much music has played a gigantic part in my life). In any case, the kid's good. Damn good. And maybe even worth checking the movie out for. Maybe. In any case, it is Tuesday and it is a nice day. So perk up and enjoy it friends! Now!

Now, this is great. And we can thank the better half of this blog for such a link, too! Ten things journalists and public relation people hate about each other. (Ereleases)

...For The Ride Home: Love finds Jesse James again, Christians and sex, China is the future of journalism and the biggest concert ever in Detroit

Wanted to give you "Monster" with 'Ye, Jay, and...Bon Iver. But there wasn't a damn video on YouTube that actually worked. That's awfully annoying. Instead, we offer you the remix to "Power" to send you off into the (cue the creepy music) last weekend of summer. It also concludes Week 23 here at The Unusual Suspects headquarters. It was a fun week, don't you think? In addition to picking up a few new friends on Twitter, we talked about tailgating, Bob Bradley's contract extension, Chinese food and, of course, two movies I really can't wait to see (side: "Invictus" is not worth your time). It was a busy, busy week for myself, though now that I find myself at Friday, I am a mere few hours away from finally getting to where I want to be. Per tradition, we will not be stopping by Monday as we all celebrate the notion of labor, but we sincerely hope each and every one of you have a fantastic holiday weekend, and that you spend it wisely by saying goodbye to the summer of 2010 with a bang. We will be back to hang out/beg for advice on such things as food, life, movies and television/offer some links/smile/laugh/cry/love with each and every one of you on Tuesday. Until then, check out a few stories below, don't forget to grab this weekend by the gonads and live life to its fullest and, never could I forget: Love you, miss you.

Everybody. And I mean eve-ery-body was at the first Jay-Z/Eminem show last night. Also, a quick happy birthday to Beyonce this weekend, as well. Fabulous. (All Hip-Hop)

...For The Ride Home: That awful couple from "The Hills" is broke, new Kings Of Leon music and a big, big game tonight in Boston

Gave this a watch last night. It's so, so charming. And even funny at times. Always good to take a chance on buying a movie and feel justified once you finally get the time to watch it three months later. It's right there with "The Lucky Ones" when considering films I'm fairly certain nobody has or will see, but really should if they get the chance. There isn't anything particularly special about these movies. They are simply nice little ditties that should be seen by more people. Plus, I'm sort of like a woman. I like romantic-y, comedy-y things. Moving forward, it's Thursday, and oh how the days pass by like frienemies often do. Huge game this evening in Boston (as you will see below), and we'd be remiss if we didn't extend our congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks for winning the Stanley Cup last night. Somewhere, Michael Wilbon is happy. And finally - keeping with the sports theme - today is the last day before the first day of the World Cup. Adjust the next month of your schedule accordingly. Thinking about throwing money on the U.S. Saturday. Probably not a good idea, right? Anyways, before any of that gets under way, take a look at the links below and celebrate the fact that the weekend is almost here. Be good, now.

The kids from “The Hills” are broke. Had to pull this out – “Spencer spends all of his money on gadgets, including professional night vision equipment and telescopes.” (Dime Wars)

A vote for Larry King, Andy Rooney and Betty White to go away in the wake of all this Helen Thomas business. Come on, man. That was the best “Saturday Night Live” in decades. (Uncle Barky)

Pretty good idea that’s been overlooked so far: If LeBron James leaves Cleveland, it certainly isn’t Cleveland’s fault at this point. Speaking of which, how about all that Tom Izzo stuff? Goodness. (Deadspin)

New York Post writers leave because the place has become insufferable. Interesting. (Gawker)

Kings Of Leon started their tour and played brand new songs. In honor, dance to “Sex On Fire” tonight. (Spin)

Yesterday, “Back To The Future” and “Jurassic Park.” Today, a new “Mortal Combat.” (USA Today)

A big, big game four tonight for Boston. Here’s Bob Ryan’s column regarding how Derek Fisher won game three for L.A. Tuesday night. It’s win or stay home for the Celtics tonight. (Boston Globe)

This was weird. Jeremy Roenick cries after Chicago wins the Stanley Cup. Odd. (The Huffington Post)

...For The Ride Home: Make way for Mr. West, Ben Roethlisberger news and John Stamos is headed to "Glee"

I cannot get songs from this album out of my head! Yes, that's an exclamation point, too. Last week, I posted a performance of "Like A Dog" along with The Ride, and even that wasn't enough. Sat down earlier this week to pen a column paying tribute to this entire record. That, too, was not enough. Because when I sat down to compile the material for today's Ride, I couldn't get the line "Despite what you believe, I stay away from trouble," out of my head. So alas, instead of another performance that you clearly have no interest in, I thought I'd spare you with a simple picture of the album cover. Should have had a Powderfinger week, damnit. Ahhh, goodness. Moving forward, it's Wednesday, raining and cold. Wait, it's June, right? Has to be, because a pitcher made his major league debut last night and the world stood still for two hours. Come on, Nats. You started him against AAA-Pittsburgh. It's not that big of a deal. Can't be. Anyways, if it happens to be raining and cold wherever you are, it may be a good night to settle in with a bottle of wine and catch up on some blog reading. There is our World Cup prediction. There are countless signs of summer to acquaint yourself with. And, of course, there are the links below that you may use at your own leisure. Whichever it be, we hope you enjoy. Honestly, though.

He’s coming. Kanye West to perform at the BET awards later this month. Taylor Swift, coincidentally, pulled out of the ceremony today. (All Hip-Hop)

Sexism, the Chicago Tribune and hockey. Love Christine Brennan. (USA Today)

The New York Times
’ ombudsman will pen his last column this weekend. So does that mean they are accepting resumes? (Media Matters)

The headline says it all. “Back To The Future” and “Jurassic Park” will become video games. (Yahoo)

Whoa. John Stamos is going to join the cast of “Glee.” No word on if Michelle or Stephanie will join him. (TV Guide)

Police have released tapes of the interviews done during the Ben Roethlisberger case. Just when you thought the story had begun to fade, too. This seems damning. (ESPN)

Anybody happen to be in Nashville? Anybody like Conan O’Brien? Anybody like Jack White? You might want to click on this then. (Pitchfork)

Oh, wow. Larry King’s wife overdosed. (Fox News)

...For The Ride Home: Gus Johnson on Madden, CNN isn't nearly as bad as people think and Bradley Cooper gets an action figure

We end week eight with Paramore's "Misery Business" only because it just can't get out of the head after coming on during a workout yesterday. Plus, it's a nice little in-your-face ditty that should help you start your weekend out correctly. Besides, next weekend, you'll be fooled into going to cookouts, or camping with friends you don't really like all that much, so enjoy the weekend-before-the-holiday the best you can. Moving forward, we saw record numbers this week! Notice the exclamation point. Our undying thanks is echoed to each and every one of you wonderfully intelligent readers who have come across our silly blog, left a comment, or even just clicked to see that crazy-good Tom Petty video from last week's "Saturday Night Live." We hope to see it continue next week, when we plan on unveiling a treat for all of you friendly people. Until then, though, click on a few links, try to see "Solitary Man" if you happen to be around a theater that carries it this weekend and enjoy the greatness May can bring (sometimes). Be good, and as always, love you, miss you.

“Come hear our pastor. He’s not very good, but he’s short.” Had to link this. (CNN)

Great Friday news: Gus Johnson will be doing play-by-play for the next Madden video game. In honor of such awesomeradical news, have fun with this. (Kotaku)

Hey, CNN has been doing great! 2009 was the network’s most profitable year ever. (National Journal)

Metallica is going to tour. Opening acts? Slayer, Megadeath and Antrhax. Those dudes on VH1 Classic who host that public access show rejoice. (Spin)

Tried telling you this weeks ago, but no one wanted to listen. Matt Barnes is cheating on his fiancĂ©. “Basketball Wives” ratings consequently go up. (Media Take Out)

Brett Favre said that if the Southern Mississippi baseball team makes it to the College World Series final, he will play another season in the NFL. Rachael Nichols prays for an upset. (ESPN)

“Lost” will end Sunday. These guys think they know how it’s going to end. (MSNBC)

Bradley Cooper is going to get his own action figure. “The Hangover” really wasn’t as funny as you thought it was going to be, right? (Showbiz Spy)

...For The Ride Home: NBA Jam contest, Onyewu says he'll play for free and the death of Ronnie James Dio

Ahh, yes. I'm back, friends. Need to extend a big thank you to the other, better half of this particular blog for picking up The Ride Friday afternoon as we said goodbye to week seven (and I couldn't even remind you all that we love you and miss you, either. So sad). We hope you had a good weekend. Managed to stay awake for the underwhelming season finale of "Saturday Night Live" and caught the above performance from Tom Petty. Wow, it's good. Damn good, actually. He looks so much better without being strapped to an instrument, doesn't he? This track far outweighed the second performance of the night, and if this song is any indication of how the rest of this new record is going to be, sign me up. Can't wait to catch him this summer. In any case, we begin week eight with some pizza and links. Still doesn't feel quite like spring/summer yet, so let's hope that changes. As for now, read on and be good.

This is sort of neat: They are going to hold a contest for the new catch phrase in the upcoming NBA Jam game. Unfortunately, it’s run through Facebook. (MTV)

Sarah Palin once wore a leather jacket. And it caused an awful lot of outrage. (Chicago Sun Times)

NBC isn’t happy that its fall lineup was leaked. Glanced over it a few days ago, and was it me, or was there no “Parks & Recreation” anywhere in sight? Please don’t say that show is done. Please. (The Wrap)

Wow. U.S. standout Oguchi Onyewu asks for AC Milan to extend his contract for a year. His going rate? Free. No, seriously. He said he’ll play for free. (Yahoo)

R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. (The Star-Ledger)

Christina Aguilera does not hate Lady Gaga. In fact, she thinks she's beautiful...in every single way. (US Weekly)

Bill Simmons is going to stay at ESPN. Bummer. (Deadspin)

Meredith Vieira (who is so easy to like, and who is still gettin’ it done) is not sleeping with Matt Lauer. And she wants you to know. (TMZ)

...For The Ride Home: Jesse James goes into sex rehab and Matt Damon will appear on "30 Rock"

Because David Gray continues to ring loud through the head. We hear there may just be some people who read this particular blog, however new it may be to your conscious. Don't be afraid to check out our Twitter page, and follow us, however creepy that may sound. Saw "Up In The Air" for the second time last night. Like Xtina, it just keeps getting better. Onward and upward.

Keep the video game content coming. How NBA Jam was allowed back into your homes. (Kotaku)

Excellent read on the most popular criminal of our time. Dude's 18, and he's stolen four airplanes. (Maxim)
